Consulting for your personal development

  • My consulting approach

My consulting for you personally is intended for individuals without a therapeutic or clinical need for support who are looking for — and choosing — well-founded guidance for their topics.

In my work, you are at the center:

your world, your perspective, your decisions, your challenges, your possibilities, your resources and your strengths.

I offer you my time, expertise, experience and creativity for your topics, projects and challenges.

At the outset, we clarify transparently what you expect and what I can offer. Throughout the process, we regularly pause to reflect on the progress we have made and to define the next steps.

Together, we bring clarity to your situation, expand your scope for action and develop viable paths forward. We will take a fresh perspective on established patterns and identify practical ways ahead. I support you in (re)discovering and strengthening your resources, capabilities and options, in developing personally and in addressing your challenges.

Our collaboration is guided by respect for our differences, appreciation and trust. All content is, of course, treated with strict confidentiality, and any documents created are stored and handled securely.

  • Scope clarification and feedback

At the outset, we define the scope of the engagement: your expectations and your objectives, as well as the anticipated time frame.

Any adjustments made during the process are documented in writing. At the end of the engagement, we — and in particular you — evaluate the success of the consulting work.

  • Scope and fees

You decide how frequently and for how long you would like to engage my services.

I would be happy to provide details on fees upon request.

  • Appreciation and openness

Many consulting approaches aim to engage with people in a completely non-judgmental way. This is an honorable principle. In practice, however, it has its limits. Our respective values inevitably influence how we interact, which perspectives we take, and which we do not.

My professional stance includes being aware of my own values, while at the same time recognizing and respecting that yours may differ. Where relevant to the consulting process, I will make my perspective transparent.

This openness about the fact that I do not operate entirely free of values may differ from some consulting approaches, which is why I choose to state it explicitly here.

  • Diagnostic tools and supporting materials

Where appropriate, I may suggest established diagnostic tools and, if suitable, integrate them into the consulting process.

For example, in the context of new professional responsibilities, it may be helpful to gain an objective understanding of your strengths and areas for development as a leader through validated questionnaires, allowing you to identify key areas to address and to develop a targeted approach for your situation.

A personality assessment may also help you better understand how you are “wired” — why you connect easily with some people but not with others, and why certain things come naturally to you while others are more challenging.

In addition, I may provide supporting materials to enable you to continue working independently and to have your results clearly documented and accessible.

  • Practical support for your topics

If you wish, I will work with you on your topics and projects — to the extent that you find helpful.

For example, I can review your application materials thoroughly with a well-founded perspective, support you in planning your next professional development steps, work with you — or on your behalf — to develop your website for your business, or assist you in organizing a major family event or optimizing your living environment.

  • Not therapy, not “standard” coaching

My consulting is intended for individuals who are mentally healthy and stable.

My work in the area of personal development is in no way psychotherapy. I do not offer psychotherapy, nor do I have the comprehensive training and licensing required to do so.

My work also does not correspond to any established coaching approach. The terms “coaching” and “coach” are not protected and encompass a wide range of methods and interpretations. Certification as a “coach” is typically granted by the institution providing the training. I do not fully align with any one of these approaches.

I therefore prefer to clearly outline the foundations of my work and to refer to it as consulting.
